Over the past year, Tea & Policy has fostered a profound community of women across industries and helped elevate their voices, build relationships, and start meaningful conversations. As you may have already noticed, our brand has been evolving. Today, we are pleased to announce the launch of our new website, monthly newsletter, and LinkedIn page.
Additionally, we have launched a private LinkedIn group for Tea & Policy members where we share meeting and event information, announcements, and where members are encouraged to connect, share, and engage with each other. Registered members are invited to “request to join” at the link above.

We are the resource.
Women are the backbone of culture, the carriers of tradition, and the force behind lasting systemic change.
Setting aside partisan politics and focusing on shared truths and commonalities, we utilize our individual strengths to educate each other and conceive innovative ways to impact our communities. Tea & Policy is a place to expand your paradigms, deepen your political analysis skills, and stand in both solidarity and diplomatic disagreement with other women. Once a month, we meet virtually to discuss public policy, conduct research, and identify ways to foster positive social impact.

"What do you think would happen if we encouraged all women to be ambitious? I think the whole world would change."

The story behind
Tea & Policy
Growing up, Tea & Policy's Founder, Desiree Orr, would have tea with her grandmother, connecting over trending matters and societal issues on which the perspectives of women often went unheard. The impact of these conversations was two-fold, both enlightening and deepening the relationship between women of different generations and life circumstances. Over time, Desiree’s appreciation for these conversations became a cornerstone of her connections with other women throughout her life.
Today, Tea & Policy pays homage to the discourse that helped shape Desiree’s voice as a girl, and that continues to shape and uplift the voices of women today. Sharing and connecting over a cup of tea, we encourage each other to research, organize, and lead. We do not sacrifice one ounce of our femininity, vulnerabilities, or strengths, for these qualities have afforded us unique and important insights about ourselves, and society at large.
We compile research, anecdotes, and trending conversations. We brainstorm ideas and volunteer personal resources. We engage with one another, specifically seeking to bolster participants who historically forgo voicing their perspectives for fear of judgment or disregard. Together, we find strength in our identities, voices, and ideas.
